academia "LEARN & ENJOY" situada
en la calle Perú, Leganés en el barrio del V Centenario.
Le escribimos está carta para
comunicarle que estamos participando en un proyecto de la Organización No Gubernamental
(ONG) "Design For Children"(DFC).
Nuestro proyecto consiste en
investigar sobre las necesidades de la gente y la ciudad e intentar
resolverlos. En particular, nos hemos centrado en la escasez de zonas para
estacionamiento de bicicletas de Leganés.
Según nuestra propia experiencia los
lugares donde harían falta serían en los centros comerciales, institutos, centros
sanitarios y barrios como Leganés Norte.

para llevar a cabo este proyecto. La juventud de Leganés le estaría muy agradecido
por su gesto de contar con estos nuevos recursos.

Somos un grupo de alumnos de la academia"Learn & Enjoy" situada en la calle Perú, Leganes en el barrio del V centenario.
Le escribimos está carta para comunicarle que estamos participando en un proyecto de la ONG "Desing For Children"(DFC).
Nuestro proyecto consiste en investigar sobre las necesidades de la gente y la ciudad e intentar resolverlos. En particular, nos hemos centrado en la escasez de zonas para estacionamiento de bicicletas de Leganés.
Según nuestra propia experiencia los lugares donde harían falta serían en: los centros comerciales, institutos,centros sanitarios y barrios como Leganés Norte.
Le agradeceríamos su colaboración para llevar a cabo este proyecto. La juventud de Leganes le estaría muy agradecido por su gesto de contar con estos nuevos recursos.

On the
first part of the class we introduced the idea of reported speech in sentences.
You analyzed the tenses correspondence and gave your examples. You also revised
the use of modals adverbs (might, may, could). You filled it in your first
examples. Not a big deal! You are supposed to complete some other exercises
before introducing R.S in questions.
On the
second part, we continued with our project for DFC. You had to decide to work
on the idea of asking the Town hall for more bicycles stands to park those
vehicles. We were analyzing who you should write the letter to, how formal it
should be, what it was that you were really asking for and where those parkings
would really be necessary.
For
homework, you are supposed to interview different people to get to know their
opinions about this project. You should ask them their views, what they think
is going to benefit from the project. Next class you will report on that!

READ THE WEEK BEFORE. TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THAT ARTICLE, YOU EXPRESSED YOUR OWN “WISH
LIST” RELATED TO SOME TOPICS SUCH AS FAMILY, FRIENDS, HOLIDAY, MONEY. YOU HAD
TO TALK ABOUT PRESENT AND PAST SITUATIONS.
ON THE
SECOND PART, WE CONTINUED WITH OUR DFC PROJECT. AFTER ADDING MORE IDEAS FOR THE
PROJECT, WE VOTED THE BEST IDEA. AND THE WINNER WAS: SENDING A LETTER TO TOWN
HALL ASKING FOR MORE BICYCLE STANDS. NOW, YOU HAVE TO FIND OUT THE REQUIREMENTS

ON THE FIRST PART OF THE CLASS, WE CHECKED HOMEWORK. THERE WERE SOME EXERCISES FOR YOU TO FEEL IN USING I WISH/IF ONLY... YOU HAD TO TALK ABOUT PRESENT/PAST SITUATIONS. AFTER THAT WE READ AND COMMENTED ABOUT A GREEK MAN: SOZOS. HE USED TO BUY A TICKET LOTTERY EVERY WEEK. ONE DAY, ,AS HE WAS STANDING IN A QUEUE WAITING FOR HIS TICKETS ,HE SAW AN OLD LADY AND OFFERED HER HIS PLACE IN THE QUEUE. THE NEXT WEEK HE SAW ON TV THE WINNING TICKET WAS THE ONE THE OLD LADY HAD BOUGHT.
ON THE BASIS OF THAT STORY, WE MADE EXPECULATIONS ABOUT HOW DIFFERENT SOZOS LIFE WOULD HAVE BEEN IF HE HADNT LET THE OLD LADY HIS PLACE AT THE QUEUE. YOU WERE RECICLYNG THIRD CONDITIONAL.
FINALLY WE HAD A LISTENING ABOUT A COUPLE WHO BOUGHT AN ISLAND ON THE PACIFIC AND BECAUSE OF AN EARTHQUEAKE THEY LOST EVERYTHING. WE USED EXPRESSIONS SUCH US IF THEY HAD KNOWN THEY SHOULD HAVE...IF THEY HADN'T...THEY WISH THEY...
ON THE SECOND PART OF THE CLASS WE STARTED WORKING ON THE PROYECT WORK. YOU BEGAN BY GIVING IDEAS ABOUT THE THINGS YOU DON'T LIKE ABOUT YOUR SCHOOL, NEIGHBOURHOOD AND LEGANÉS. THE IDEA WAS TO MAKE A LIST OF THE THINGS YOU CAN CHANGE. ALTHOUGH THERE WERE ONLY THREE STUDENTS IN THE CLASS MANY IDEAS CAME UP. YOU WROTE THOSE IDEAS ON A POST-IT AND STICK THEM IN A BIG PAPER ON THE BOARD. THEN YOU REORGANIZED THOSE IDEAS IN GROUPS ACCORDING TO THE TOPICS. NEXT CLASSWE WILL SORT OUT THOSE IDEAS AND WILL DO THE VOTING TO SEE THE ONES YOU CAN CARRY OUT.

THIS WEEK WE STARTED BY REVISING THE USE OF PAST PERFECT COMPARED WITH SIMPLE PAST.
WE ALSO REVISED THE USE OF FIRST AND SECOND CONDITIONAL TO INTRODUCE THE THIRD TYPE AND TALK ABOUT AN IMPOSIBLE SITUATION. YOUR EXAMPLES FROM REAL LIFE WERE VERY INTERESTING.SOME OF YOU HAD LOTS OF REGRETS!
WE HAD AN EXTENDED ORAL ACTIVITY TO REVISE MIXED CONDITIONALS. YOU WERE IN TWO GROUPS AND FIRST WE EXPLAINED WHAT A GAP YEAR WAS. SOME OF YOU POINTED OUT THE ADVANTAGES FOR A GAP YEAR: METTING NEW PEOPLE, DIFFERENT PLACES, LEARNING ABOUT OTHER CULTURES, LIVING ON YOUR OWN. SOME OTHER STUDENTS TALKED ABOUT DISAVANTAGES: SPENDING A LOT OF MONEY, MISSING THE FAMILY,DEPENDING ON YOUR OWN,ETC.YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO USE CONDITIONALS TO TALK ABOUT THAT HIPOTHETICAL SITUATION.
AT FIRST YOU READ A BLOG FROM A GIRL SPENDING A GAP YEAR IN BRAZIL AND HER EXPERIENCE. THEN , YOU ASKED TWO QUESTIONS PER GROUP. ONCE THIS, ONE GROUP EXCHANGED THE QUESTIONS WITH THE OTHE GROUP TO ANSWER THE QUESTIONS.ONCE THIS , THE GROUPS RECOVERED THEIR ORIGINAL QUESTIONS TO SEE WHAT THE OTHER GROUP HAD ANSWERED.
